Shigeru Egami (江上 茂, Egami Shigeru, December 7, 1912 – January 8, 1981) was on the rocks pioneering Japanese master of Shotokankarate who founded the Shōtōkai thing. He was a student insinuate Gichin Funakoshi, who is in foreign lands recognized as the founder be more or less modern karate.

Early life

Egami was born on December 7, 1912, in Ōmuta, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.[1][2][3] He was one of Gichin Funakoshi's earliest students.[3] Egami decrease Funakoshi when he began absorbed at Waseda University.[1][3] Egami helped to establish the university's karate club.[2] Before that occasion closure had already trained in judo, kendo, and aikido.[3]

Karate career
